I effectively laughed my entire way through this shoot with Heather & Chad! We had SUCH a fun time and I loved photographing them!! They were soo natural and fun…just totally loving their time together and allowing me to simply observe and capture their raw happiness! Oh yea…and they worked it out for some of their serious shots too!! I can’t wait for their wedding in November (when we will NOT be sweating it out through our shoot!)!! THANK YOU for such a fun time and for making the trip to Indy for the shoot, H+C….you two are simply fantastic and I’m soo honored to be your photographer! Hope the family reunion was a blast!!! If you guys need a new family member for that rockin party disguised as a family reunion, i’m available! hehe!

We didn’t plan this for our shoot….I just thought they might like shooting in this area based on the style we discussed and while we were there, they told me the story! Love it!

What an awesome couple Allison & Ben are and what a TERRIFIC wedding they had! I hadn’t met them prior to their wedding day because they have been living in Chicago (aboout to move to California!), were getting married in Columbus, Ohio..and I’m obviously in Indy….and when I met them, I completely adored them!! They were everything I expected and TONS more!! They were soo relaxed on their wedding day and just thoroughly enjoyed it!! They also endured like champs on an incredibly hot, rainy and steamy day…and were just soo fun and great through it all…as were their awesome family and wedding party members! Allison and Ben…thank you for having me and allowing me to capture your wedding…it was incredible, fun, full of warmth and SUCH great style….and I just LOVED being a part of it!!

One of my favorite families who I’ve worked with since their oldest was born! It’s soo special and wonderful to watch them grow…and I haven’t seen them in a while since they live in Savannah, Georgia and I only get the privilege of seeing and shooting them when they come to town!! We had an awesome time together though…as always and even had a “cupcake surprise” to end our shoot (and let’s face it, as a bribe for doing good during our shoot!) Wonderful to see you, as always, Scales Fam!!! Much love to you guys!

Merritt wasn’t having it at the beginning…so Ella & Momma Abby were helping out! Oh, and we stopped into the cutest flower shop down on Mass Ave called Watt’s Blooming! They were soo great, let us come in and have fun…and they even gave the girls each a daisy! They have incredible flowers too!

We stopped into the awesome Flying Cupcake, which has a new shop on Mass Ave! LOVE their cupcakes..and so did the girls!! Oh and their new shop is SOO cute…we had a GREAT time and it was a perfect way to end our shoot!! The girls could have stayed forever…..

Everyone loves a good sugar high!!!

This was such a special wedding!! I knew from the minute that I met Allison that this was going to be great…but I had no idea how great! They are such special, thoughtful, kind people…as are their families! Their wedding was soo intimate and joyful…full of sweet, special moments, wonderful people and SUCH FUN! I truly loved being a part of it! Allison and Jamie were also very patient with some rainy, hot weather so I owe them a huge thanks! Oh and how I LOVE a sweet first meeting! My two favorite moments of a wedding day are the first meeting and the first dance….LOVE the real, intimate moments in both of those!

I love the Ketubah signing….and Jewish ceremonies! They are very sweet!

I’ve always had an affinity for The Woodstock Club…it’s very warm and inviting, yet beautifully formal and perfect for a wedding with the colors that Allison chose…..

Did I mention that I love Jewish weddings….

Meet sweet little Ethan & Drew!! These little guys just totally captured my heart….they were soo great for our entire shoot and peacefully fell asleep at the end! It was perfect!! I soo enjoyed my time with them….and I certainly admire their Momma, Alexis….because I can’t imagine having TWO and she makes it look easy! Thanks to Alexis and her sweet Momma for help with the shoot!! I loved spending my afternoon with you all!

I know, I know…I’m a bad mom/photographer!! I haven’t done a Sophie update in a while, but I have been learning to navigate the usual madness that is summer as a busy wedding and portrait photographer, while being a new mom and trying to spend as much time with my baby as possible…all on very little sleep…so you’ll have to cut me a break! Although, I have family that might disown me if I don’t do a quick update…so here goes!

What a FUN shoot I had with Adrienne & Colt! They are such a terrific couple…so truly happy and fun!! They completely embraced the shoot and really just made the most of our time, it was awesome!! We laughed our butts off in this shoot, if you can’t tell and just had a blast! Thank you, Adrienne & Colt for coming in from Cincy for such a fun shoot!! Can’t wait for the wedding!! YAY!!

I ADORE this couple and this shoot…if I do say so myself!! Amy & Matt are such wonderful, special people!! When we met, they greeted me with a beautiful gift for Sophie, after they graciously allowed me to reschedule our shoot during the time of Sophie’s MCADD discovery and specialist visits. They were soo kind about the whole thing! Thank you again, Amy & Matt! They were both soo cool about this shoot, too…they had lots of awesome ideas for the overall concept of the shoot and I LOVED it!! it’s soo fun to work towards a creative goal and I soo appreciated that Amy & Matt had such care about their images, my work and the overall shoot!! I’m letting out a secret here (sorry Matt, it’s too sweet not to share)…but Matt even emailed me ahead of time sharing how they were really excited for the shoot….and how he just hoped Amy felt as beautiful in the shoot as he truly felt she was! Are you kidding me, I just about melted…and then I made my husband read the email! But as you will see…there was no need to worry about that, Amy and Matt were STUNNING! I mean, can’t help but stare kind of stunning….and they ROCKED this shoot! I was soo proud that they really embraced it…I love when couples let all inhibition go and just be IN the moment, enjoying the chance to be together and be real…while allowing me to capture it! It was an AWESOME shoot! Amy & Matt…you two are the BEST….thank you for being soo special and wonderful!! I love working with you guys!!

I had a LOT of favorites from this shoot….good things it’s my blog and I can put up as many as I want! hehe!!!

I’ve been in a film kind of mood lately and been craving some old darkroom techniques like split toning and cyanotyping…and this shoot was a perfect fit for my craving!

Cyanotypes are a little different, I know…but I just felt like it fit….

Did I mention that these two are HOT!?!?! And I love that they still flirt with each other! I think couples should flirt forever….

And then we headed outside! I love their style…Amy had some rockin dresses!! You looked good too, Matt!

Amy & Matt endured some steamy hot temps for this shoot…but the light was DELISH!!

Adrianne & Tyler!! I adore you guys!! What a TERRIFIC wedding you had…so perfectly sweet, intimate, warm, charming, personal, fun, unique and wonderful! I truly loved it!! You endured quite a bit of chaos in your wedding planning at no fault of your own and you handled it with such grace and patience…never letting it interfere with what was MOST important, being married to one another and having that be a true reflection of the love you have! Adrianne & Tyler are both from Zionsville (as is yours truly!)….they recently bought a great house in the village and had their wedding reception downtown, so it was fitting to do pictures on Main Street! It very personal and I love when weddings really reflect the couple! And how great is it when you can walk to your locations on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon…. Tyler on his way to meet his gorgeous bride in their back yard with Adrianne anxiously awaiting his arrival…

Oh sweet little Nora!! She is the precious baby girl of one of my couples who you might remember, Kelly & Tim! They are such a terrific couple and I was soo excited when I had the chance to meet and photograph their new little girl! She impressed us and nearly stayed awake for our entire 2 hour shoot, despite our endless attempts to get her to sleep! She was onto us! Kelly & Tim…I’m SOO happy for you guys! THE BROWN FAMILY

I stopped by for a very special visit with a very special family, the Browns! You might remember these incredibly adorable boys from our shoot last fall! That shoot made me fall in love with both Alex (the BIG brother) and Aidan (the LITTLE brother)!! They are just soo fun and wonderful….we became friends right away!!! Well, at the end of May, the Brown’s learned that sweet little Aidan has cancer. They are truly one amazing family, though and they are being a shining example of God’s love and strength, through the trials of what the last month has presented to them. We all fully believe and trust that God has Aidan right in the palm of His big and mighty hand and He will continue to bring Aidan through the treatment of this cancer as easily and pain free as possible and will bring him into full healing and health!! We also trust that God has an amazing plan for Aidan’s life that includes him becoming a remarkable man and that this situation will only cause the entire family and Aidan to be stronger, closer, richer and relish in every day of life, as the ultimate result.

The day after our shoot was “project buzz cut” when Daddy, Alex and Aidan all got matching buzz haircuts, so we figured we better capture these gorgeous locks of hair and beautiful smiles & spirits that went with them before the boys got the fun of taking the clippers to Daddy’s hair! ha!!! Now as the saying goes, Brown family….SHRINK THAT TUMOR!!!! All my love, thoughts and daily prayers to all of you!!!!
